Watercoloring Digital Stamps (How to get them onto watercolor paper)

Hello, all! Today I played with digital images from The Greeting Farm. They have been releasing the most fun digital sets recently! See them all here! All of them are very timely and relevant to the world we all live in at the moment. When I saw the Movie Night set and the Hello From Home set , I just knew I had to get them and create a couple cards!

(Wondering what I used in this video? Everything is linked to multiple sources in the thumbnails at the end of this post, or in the text below. Compensated affiliate links used when possible).

The main obstacle to watercoloring digital images like these is the fact that I don't own a printer with waterproof ink, nor one that could handle printing on the thick watercolor paper I would want to paint on. So I tried two different methods of transfer the images to watercolor.

First, I printed out the images at the size I wanted them. For the Movie Night set images, I used a light pad to trace the images onto watercolor paper with a pencil. For the Hello From Home set , I uses graphite transfer paper (which needed a bit of sketching afterward since it was too faint in some areas).

Of the two methods, I prefer using the light pad .

I painted both images using Distress Inks and then cut them out using scissors. I used a printed greeting for the Movie Night card, and a sentiment from CZ Design's Reverse Miss You Sentiment Strips for the other card.

Thanks for stopping by today! Make sure to check out all the new digital sets over at The Greeting Farm . There are so many amazing sets!
